Freddy Rodriguez was born on January 17, 1975 in Chicago, IL to Puerto Rican parents. Freddy has been acting since he was 13 years old with a small role in a movie called “The Undertaker” but he came to fame playing Federico ‘Rico’ Diaz in the HBO series, “Six Feet Under.”

Since the series, he has gone on to star in movies and do guest appearances in TV shows, most recently as Gio, the sandwich maker in the ABC series, “Ugly Betty.”

Recently besides acting in movies, he has become involved in the producing end of the business, producing the film “Nothing Like the Holidays” and has several other projects in the works including a film adaptation of Ernesto Quiñonez’ Bodega Dreams: A Novel and “Julito Marana” to be filmed in Puerto Rico.

    I do hope we get to see “Julito Maraña” on theatres soon and that gives him enough resources to start working on the “Bodega Dreams” project. I love the book and Freddy has been interested in it for quite some time. Keep up the good work, Freddy!

    He is very talented and amazing! I think he is a fantastic actor and seems to be a very special person too. I imagine that he is a simple and genuine man.
