I recently posted a photo slide show with images from an old magazine called “The Mentor” published in 1921. The articles that accompanied the images have been scanned and I am posting them as a historical insight into Puerto Rico in 1921 as seen through an outsider’s point of view. The articles have been posted with the corresponding images and the words have not been changed to maintain the spirit of the original publisher.
A note on the name “Porto Rico”: This was the name of the island at the time of publishing; the spelling was officially changed on May 17, 1932 to its current spelling “Puerto Rico.”
