Latinos in Social Media Heritage Tour
This is my site Written by Cumba on August 20, 2009 – 7:19 pm

A couple of months ago, I went to the first Latinos in Social Media Meetup in New York. A group started by Louis Pagan, his vision was to create a network of Latinos involved in Social Media and bringing all that talent together. In that first meetup we discussed me creating some videos for the group. Since that first meetup the group has gone nationwide, a Facebook group was created, a couple of Twitter parties and now the group is gearing up for their first Latinos in Social Media Heritage Tour.

The first national tour will take place in three different cities across the United States. The first will be in Houston (September 24 & 25), next in New York (October 1 & 2) and the last one will be in Orlando (October 8 & 9). I am proud to have contributed in some small way by creating the videos below.

Please check out their website for more information about the tour and how to contact them on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. Their website is

Creating these videos for me was a great experience in that I am supporting a great organization and I would like to thank Louis Pagan for his vision and guidance during this process.

No project is a one man show and this one was especially rewarding in the talent and commitment of the people that I worked with. I would like to give them all a shout out and tell them how fortunate I am to have them as a team. First, Chris Wilfong for his great camera work, Ben Chapins for his editing skills, I gave them the direction and they came back with more than I expected. Debbie Whyte, great project manager and graphic designer for her constant support and great enthusiasm that she brought to the team. Nancy Lopez, a great person and coordinator for making the calls to get people out on a hot summer day. Lastly, I want to thank all the wonderful people who showed up to share themselves in front of the camera.

  3. Miguel, this was awesome. After our initial talk it was apparent that your creative juices started to flow. Our second chat over Cubanos and drinks showed that you captured what I was looking for and incorporated your own ideas into the project.

A hallmark of a great artist is to see what their client wants and capture it while delivering beyond expectations.

You hermano, have done just that and it was sheer delight to have you do this. I am grateful for the opportunity to have collaborate with you on this and hope to do more projects in the future.

  4. Thanks Louis! It was a pleasure to work on this project for a cause I firmly believe in. I’m excited to do more.
