YERBABUENA (one word) is a group of individuals who come together to play the music that they love under the musical direction of singer-composer-musician Tato Torres. It is composed of musicians, singers and dancers from the New York City area, who share an intense passion for the musical traditions of Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. The lead singer for this clip is Flaco Navaja, poet, singer and actor. This clip was aired on Japanese television. The song "Campo" is a traditional bomba song from Puerto Rico.

Governor General Manuel Macías inaugurated the new government of Puerto Rico under the Autonomous Charter which gave town councils complete autonomy in local matters.
1961
Bolívar Pagán (b. May 16, 1897) died. He was a distinguished historian, journalist, and politician. In 1939 Pagán was appointed Resident Commissioner to the U.S. House of Representatives by the Governor of Puerto Rico.
